Why CNG Conversion?
- Diesel is becoming more expensive every day.
- Pakistan spends a huge part of its foreign exchange on purchase of Petroleum Products.
- Diesel is the single largest pollutant of environment today.
- Cleaner Diesel engines are very expensive.
- Pakistan has one of the best Natural Gas distribution system in the World.
- Natural Gas is the only viable replacement of Diesel as per many International studies.
CNG Conversion Options..1
Bi-Fuel
- There is no basic change in the Diesel Engine.
The FI pump is recalibrated generally to 30% of original capacity and additional 70% supply of natural gas replaces the reduced amount of Diesel. - Actual Gas/Diesel consumption is generally 50:50
- Emission controls are not good due to Diesel burning.
- Cost of conversion is generally more
- Maintenance costs are higher as although the conversion is simpler but the system requires frequent adjustments afterwards.
CNG Conversion Options..2
Dedicated CNG
- The engine configurations are changed to accommodate lower compression ratio, spark ignition system and closed-loop fuel control system.
- The engine runs on CNG only
- Emission levels are near zero
- Cost of conversion is lesser
- Maintenance costs are lower as although the conversion is more complex but the system does not need frequent re-adjustments.
